K9 Memorials History | |
A very sad turn of events caused me to start this business. On February 9, 2001, my dog "Goober" passed away. Goober was a Yellow Lab and was just about the best dog anyone could ask for. He was gentle, smart, loving - and my companion for 5 years. He came to work with me everyday - and he went everywhere with me - whether it be a trip across the country or a trip across town. Everyone that met Goober loved Goober. When he died, I buried him at home. I began to search for a memorial - more specifically - a headstone. Everything I found I didn't like. That's when I decided to make my own memorial to Goober. Since I own a machine shop, J&L Tool, with the equipment capable of constructing a lasting memorial for Goober. I made Goober a memorial out of 1/4" thick stainless steel (see picture) and placed it on his grave. Finally, Goober was given his proper memorial. As weeks passed, more and more friends had the opportunity to see Goober's grave memorial - and commented - "You ought to make those to sell." The result was K9Memorials birth. I have a new buddy now, his name is "Ace." He is also a Yellow Lab. While he will never replace Goober, I love him just as much. Every time I walk by Goober's grave I look at his memorial and think of the good times we had together. Thanks for visiting K9 Memorials and for your interest in a memorial for your pet. I am truly sorry to know that there are people everyday experiencing the loss of their pet - but a K9 Memorial is a great way to remember their life. | ![]() Goober |
